Frank Toshun Nakamura
Frank T. Nakamura, of Oak Ridge, TN, born February 2, 1924 in Flint Michigan, died on December 26, 2016 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Frank was a graduate of the University of Michigan. He did medical research in laboratories at the University of Michigan and Columbia University in New York City before his retirement with his wife, Edna Earle to Oak Ridge, TN in 1983. He read avidly, swam diligently, worked with his computer and often fly fished with his favorite fishing partner, Fred Graham. He and Fred also tied flies for fishing.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, William Noboru Nakamura and Elsie Haruo Kuroki Nakamura; wife, Edna Earle Simpson Nakamura, two sons Nathan John Nakamura and Paul Frank Nakamura. In addition all his siblings are deceased: Joseph F. Nakamura, John M. Nakamura, Mary H. Nakamura Tokuhisa, Richard Y. Nakamura, and William H. Nakamura.
Frank is survived by his sister-in-law, May Tambara Nakamura, wife of Joseph Nakamura along with their children, Jeanne and John. Son of William H. Nakamura (Mary Sheldon): Michael Nakamura (Jacqueline Caswell) and their children Derek and Nicole survive as do the daughter of William H. Nakamura (Jessica Marion), Michelle Lee Nakamura (Justin R. Hodges) and their daughter Olivia M. Hodges. The three children of Mary H. Nakamura (Thomas Tokuhisa) Janet and James Tokuhisa survive as well as son David Tokuhisa (Sheri Smith) and their daughters Rebekah and Rachel. Stepchildren, Douglas Bryant of Knoxville, Donna Earle Bryant Welcom (Jay P.) of Miami, Danny Bryant (Mary Robertson) of Knoxville, Dale Bryant (Lisa Porter)
of Dandridge, and Dean Bryant (Rebecca Harmon) of Spring Hill, TN. Further survivors are the 9 children of the 5 stepchildren and the 16 children of these 9 step-grandchildren.
