Obituary for Sue Helen Hale (Holladay )

Sue Helen Hale (Holladay )
Mrs. Sue Helen Holladay Hale of Clinton, TN passed away peacefully surrounded by family at her home to be with her Lord on September 1, 2017. She was the last of twelve children born to Carlie Bertrand Holladay and Josie Crider Holladay on February 2, 1928 near Huntingdon, TN. She graduated as valedictorian from Huntingdon High School and attended Nashville Business College. She began her work career at Y-12 in Oak Ridge, TN. Besides being a homemaker, she also worked for Horace Wells at the Clinton Courier News.

She had many passions, but most notably she was known for her cooking and tending to her husband, children, and grandchildren; traveling via bus tours and cruises; and enjoying the beauty of flowers. She was an avid sports enthusiast for UT football, Atlanta Braves baseball, and Pat Summitt & the Lady Vols. She lived her life in a Christlike manner and faithfully attended the Clinton Church of Christ. She never knew a stranger and treated everyone like family. Her heartfelt love of others was reciprocated by many, and she will be dearly missed.

Sue`s favorite Bible verse was: Matthew 7:12, "So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets."

Special thanks to The Home Option nurses and staff and UT Hospice for their dedicated loving service to her and her family.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Byron Hale, a daughter, Debby Spann (Mark) of Clinton, TN and a son, Tim Hale (Melinda) of Nolensville, TN; four grandchildren, Kevin Spann (Tasha) of Clinton, TN, Austin Hale (Erin) of Nolensville, TN, Tyler Spann (Brittney) of LaVergne, TN and Lauren Eubanks (Brent) of Nashville, TN; and four great grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, 4 sisters, and 7 brothers.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF), P.O. Box 47, Nampa, ID 83653 or to Gary Jones, India Mission Fund, c/o Clinton Church Christ, P. O. Box 1126, Clinton, TN 37717.

Services will be held at Clinton Church of Christ, 500 N. Main Street, Clinton, TN 37716.
